Earth has existed for 4.6 billion years, and many living beings have inhabited this planet and faced its challenges. However, only one species has made it through them for 175 million years, adapting and evolving its DNA to survive. What event could take off their ruler title? or are Dinosaurs still here?
Dinosaurs are well-known for their impressive adaptability to uncertain environments. They have overcome earthquakes, hurricanes, drought, food scarcity, and even volcano eruptions, allowing them to dominate the earth for 175 million years. But what catastrophic event could stop their kingdom? And the most important thing is, if the most powerful living being did not survive, what could? and why?
Dinosaurs
Fortunately, we didn’t have to interact with this species. Dinosaurs were extinct 66 million years before humans appeared on Earth. They lived during the Mesozoic era, which is divided into the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods, it is well-known they were reptiles with a specific position in the food chain, they were depredators and prey, some of them were vegetarian, carnivores or hybrid, but all of them were able to adapt to a hostile environment full of challenges.

Mesozoic Era
It started 250 million years ago when the first dinosaurs appeared and continued to dominate millions of years more until the Cretaceous period. They were extinguished by a meteorite that fell in the Gulf of Mexico 66 million years ago and caused the division of the continents.
Dinosaurs life
Despite their relatively short lifespan of around 20-30 years, dinosaurs reigned supreme for over 175 million years. While many were solitary creatures, relying on their instincts for survival, some, particularly herbivores, lived in groups. Their size, speed, and diet varied widely, ranging from small, bird-like creatures to giants towering over 40 meters tall. Some could even reach speeds of 88 kph, comparable to modern highway speeds.
